Good healthcare analytics is not just about producing numbers.
It is about helping people interpret, question and use those numbers responsibly within complex healthcare systems.
About this Series
This series has been developed and written by Chandan Kaur as an independent educational resource to improve health data literacy and support better evidence-informed decision-making across healthcare.
The content draws upon more than 20 years of experience in analytics, statistics, business intelligence and healthcare, together with current national guidance and recognised evaluation methodologies where appropriate.
The series is intended to evolve over time as new modules are added and existing content is refined.
Throughout this series, I use the term Healthcare Decision Intelligence to describe the ability to bring together data, evidence, analytical methods, professional expertise, lived experience and sound judgement to make better decisions for patients and populations.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
This series was conceived, structured and authored by Chandan Kaur.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT was used as a collaborative assistant throughout the development of the series to help refine explanations, improve readability, generate diagrams and illustrations, assist with cover artwork, and support the iterative development of educational materials.
All learning objectives, educational content, NHS examples, interpretation, conclusions and editorial decisions are the responsibility of the author.
The use of artificial intelligence has been guided by the principles of human oversight, transparency and critical review. AI has been used to enhance communication and visual presentation, not as a substitute for subject matter expertise, professional judgement or independent thinking.
This approach reflects one of the central themes of this series: technology should support better decision-making, but responsibility and accountability remain with people.
